When fear settles deep within — the Mahamrityunjaya Mantra is the only refuge.

Lord Trimbakeshwar — one of the 12 Jyotirlingas
When a loved one battles a serious illness…
When the fear of accidents never leaves the mind…
When the doctor's answer feels incomplete and the heart turns to faith…
When life takes a sudden turn beyond your control…
The Mahamrityunjaya Mantra — revered as the most powerful Mrityunjaya mantra in the Rigveda — is still chanted at Trimbakeshwar in the same ancient tradition.

Pandit lineage of Trimbakeshwar tradition
When fear and helplessness arrive together — where does the heart turn?
There are moments when every option has been exhausted — doctors, medicines, advice — and yet a strange emptiness and fear remains within.
Sometimes a loved one's serious illness shakes the very foundation within…
Sometimes news of an unexpected accident arrives without warning…
Sometimes a doctor's report leaves you trembling with uncertainty…
Sometimes the heart feels that only God remains…
In such moments, the chanting of the Mahamrityunjaya Mantra — especially at Trimbakeshwar, the most sacred Jyotirlinga of Shiva — offers deep faith and emotional solace.

"The path to freedom from the fear of death — Trimbakeshwar"
Mahamrityunjaya — called the Conqueror of Death by Lord Shiva himself
Just as a ripe cucumber naturally detaches from the vine — this mantra is a prayer for liberation from the bondage of illness and the fear of death. The devotee does not ask "do not let me die" — they ask "free me from the fear of death, and grant me immortality."
Trimbakeshwar — the Self-Manifest Abode of Mrityunjaya
Trimbakeshwar is the only Jyotirlinga where the Shivalinga bears the faces of Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva — all three. The Mahamrityunjaya Jap performed here is considered extraordinarily powerful beyond any other site.
1.25 Lakh Chants — the Complete Anushthan
In Vedic tradition, 1,25,000 repetitions of the Mahamrityunjaya Mantra constitute an "Anushthan" — a complete ritual resolve. This number is considered whole — as a sankalp finds its fulfillment. Learned pandits sit together and complete this sacred chant.
"The Mahamrityunjaya Mantra — a 5,000-year-old prayer as alive and powerful today as it ever was."
Where this Jap takes place
28 km from Nashik — Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga, the sacred source of the Godavari river, where Lord Shiva is self-manifest.

The Shivalinga here is unique — within a single stone reside Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh together. This temple, at the source of the Godavari, is especially awakened every Monday for the Mahamrityunjaya Jap.

"The Mahamrityunjaya Jap is not merely the recitation of a mantra — it is a bridge that connects the devotee directly to Trimbakeshwar. When your name is spoken in the sankalp, every breath of consciousness is devoted to you."
Devotion knows no distance.
Nashik may be far — but sankalp and jap do not see distance.
In Vedic tradition, the sankalp — your name, gotra, and heartfelt wish — is the very heart of the puja. Whether you are in Delhi or the USA, your prayer reaches Lord Trimbakeshwar all the same.

A Thought
When every remedy has been tried — one sankalp remains.
Medicine, doctors, treatments — all of these are necessary and important. But alongside them, a quiet prayer, a formally offered sankalp — this strengthens the spirit from within.
The Mahamrityunjaya Jap performed in your name at Trimbakeshwar — it is not merely a ritual, it is a bridge that connects you directly to Lord Shiva.
"When a cucumber is ripe, it separates from the vine without effort — in the same way, this mantra naturally loosens the bonds of fear."

"Questions I had too..."
Is the puja performed at Trimbakeshwar truly different?▾
Yes. Among all 12 Jyotirlingas, Trimbakeshwar is the only one where the Shivalinga holds the forms of Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva together. The Mahamrityunjaya Jap performed here is traditionally regarded as the most powerful.
1.25 Lakh chants — does this really happen?▾
Yes. In our pandit family, 4–6 pandits sit together and perform the jap throughout the day. A single pandit chants approximately 400–500 times per hour. The Purnahuti and Havan take place only after the full 1.25 Lakh chants are completed.
I am far away — will my name actually be spoken?▾
Absolutely. In the sankalp, your name, gotra, father's name, and heartfelt wish are all formally recited aloud. You can hear this for yourself in the video.
Is this puja a treatment for illness?▾
No. This is a religious and spiritual anushthan, not a medical treatment. Please continue with your medical care. This puja is for emotional peace, faith, and inner strength.
How long does the prasad take to arrive?▾
5–7 working days. The prasad includes — temple Bhasma, Rudraksha, Panchamrit prasad, and a personal message from the Archakar.
Is the puja only performed on Mondays?▾
Monday is an especially auspicious day for Shiva puja. But special anushthans are also performed on Maha Shivaratri, Pradosh, and Amavasya. Please let us know your need on WhatsApp.
